Where blue meets green, Kas has become much more popular in the last decade thanks to social media. Holiday photos put it on places to visit in Antalya lists.
Compared with other resorts, Kas stands out for quiet. Narrow cobbled streets, bay-windowed houses wrapped in bougainvillea, and small cafes make it hard to leave. Mountains run parallel to the coast, so sandy beaches are rare; you swim from rock platforms and piers, which is why the water stays so clear.
In summer foreign visitors come too; British guests are numerous year-round, and many have bought homes.
Kas is a top diving destination in Turkey, with 21 dive sites. The sea ecosystem is still healthy: many fish species and loggerhead turtles, sometimes even swimming with them. Kas is known as a turtle nesting area.
Kaputas Beach, between Kas and Kalkan, sits among steep rocks. You go down 187 steps. It is busy from April to October.
The Greek island of Meis is 2.1 km away and visible from many points. Sea buses run from Kas.
Patara, Turkey’s second-longest beach, is a protected nesting area you should see while you are here.

Boutique hotels and guesthouses dominate. Rental villas are also popular. Honeymoon villas are a first choice for couples, and there are villas designed for conservative guests. Sea-view and Meis-view villas and hotels are part of why people fall for Kas.

Kas is a district of Antalya on the Mediterranean. You reach it by road. The nearest airport is Mugla-Dalaman, about 2.5 hours by car or transfer. Antalya Airport is about 3 hours. The last 10 km into town are winding through steep rock; the view at the end makes you forget the bends.
