How to get to Patara Beach
Patara Beach is in Kas, Antalya. At about 18 km it is the country’s longest beach and should be high on any Antalya holiday list. It works for summer trips and honeymoons.
Reach Kas by air or road, then go on to Gelemiş village. The beach is about 220 km from Antalya city — roughly three hours by car. Ankara and Istanbul are farther, but the deep blue water, fine sand and length make the trip worthwhile.
By car, follow the Fethiye road from Antalya, pass Kalkan and take the Patara turn. The beach sits between Kas and Kalkan.
A must-see for anyone in the Antalya area, and popular with Antalya honeymoon couples. Entry is charged per person. Sunbeds and umbrellas inside cost extra.
The fee was 7.5 Turkish lira per person when this was written. After 19:00 the beach is closed to people so loggerhead turtles are not disturbed; lights and noise are not used after that hour.
A museum card waives the entry fee. The beach is important worldwide, not only for Turkey, and is both beautiful and reasonably priced by Antalya standards.

If you are already in Antalya, put Patara at the top of your list. Many visitors choose Antalya rental villas.
Give a day to this world-famous beach between Kas and Kalkan. Fine sand and length make it a pleasure. It is a turtle habitat, so hours are split between people and wildlife. Fines apply if rules are broken.
Within visiting hours, families can spend an easy day and collect memories.
