Besides nature and history, some of Turkey’s finest waterfalls are in Antalya. Visiting them is a good way to look after this natural and cultural heritage. For a stay, consider Antalya rental villas — or a honeymoon villa if you want an unusual start to married life.

Lower Duden Waterfall

In Lara, reachable even by city bus, near Youth Park and military facilities. It falls 40 metres from the cliffs into the sea. Dudenbasi, another fall of the Duden stream, is about 15 km from Antalya.

Ucarsu Waterfall

In Kas, bursting from Akdag on Gomme Plateau — nature and a cultural story. About 250 metres southwest of Yesil Gol; five minutes on a path, then another 100 metres down for the full view. Tours from Gomme with experienced guides are the easiest way.

Legend says Abdal Musa, a holy man from Elmali Tekke, blessed the fall after a shepherd girl shared her food and water. Many Alevi and Muslim visitors treat the place as sacred. The water drops about 50 metres and feeds Caybogazi Dam, which irrigates Elmali and Gomme. Folk songs mention it. Stay in Kas — Kas rental villas are popular — or look at Kalkan if the centre is full.

Upper Duden Waterfall

In Varsaklar, nicknamed a hidden paradise. It sits in a recreation area with an ancient site. After about 22 metres it collects in a small pool.

Manavgat Waterfall

Even people who have never been to Antalya know it. About 4 km from Manavgat town, on the fierce Manavgat River, with channels and weirs turning the surroundings into a picnic area.

Degirmendere Waterfall

Less famous, leased by the forestry directorate. Once used to turn millstones, which is how it got the name; a few ruined mills remain. Not huge, but a fine place to sit with nature.
